Team Tilly’s Farm
The team at Tilly’s Farm is a relatively young one with the current average age at 31.3 years. With a diverse team working in our operations in the Eastern and Greater Accra Regions. We have two people working on the farm responsible for the day to day running of the farm at the moment.
Esther A. Mensah(Msc) – Technical Coordinator – Out Grower Scheme
Esther is responsible for developing and managing the out grower scheme, she joined the team in February, 2017 as a Returning Expert of the Center for International Migration (CIM) of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) having studied for a master’s degree from the University of Hohenheim in Germany. She is responsible for making sure out grower farmers adhere and use the same to similar pig husbandry practices to that of our farm there by ensuring “traceability”.
Panyin Poku-Dankwa – Inventory Officer
Panyin works at Tilly’s Farm’s in its production and logistics department. As part of his duties he ensures that product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demands of customers. This he does by using software to monitor demand, as well as analyze data to anticipate future needs. Panyin holds a diploma as a certified IT professional, and has worked with two IT companies before joining the Tilly’s Farm team in 2017.
Ernest Tome – Farm Assistant
Ernest is Farm Assistant on the farm and responsible for taking care of the animals. His duties include cleaning the pens, feeding the herd as well as general farm duties. He had previously worked on different farms in similar roles for close to a decade.
Ernest was instrumental in the farm being judged the best pig farm in the Yilo Krobo Municipality in 2016.
Roy Ndunda Mutunga – Intern/Farm Assistant
Roy is currently interning on the farm and is helping the team develop our pork product with his experience in the hospitality business. Roy is a young and ambitious upcoming Chef who had gained experience from various prestigious establishments like, The Leopard Beach Hotel in Diani South Coast of Kenya, The ocean basket in Nairobi and Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria. He has risen through the ranks from a Commis Chef, Grill Chef, Prep Chef, Saucier Chef to Assistant head chef in these establishments. Roy studied at the Steyns Culinary School in Pretoria, South Africa. He holds a Diploma in Culinary arts from the City & Guild London Institute.
Some of his early achievements are; attaining a distinction in his Diploma for Culinary Arts; one of the best students in Steyns Culinary School according the institution’s management; and having the privilege to cook for His Excellency the Right Honorable David Johnston, Governor-General of Canada in May 2013
Mr. Mutunga wishes to be an Executive Chef in a five star hotel and is open to any challenges in the hospitality industry.
